Planting & pruning calendar

Know exactly when to prune, plant and protect.

ThymeIt turns your ZIP code into a garden calendar for the plants you actually grow. Your apple tree, your lilac and your hydrangeas, not just tomatoes. You get a reminder the morning each job is due.

How timing works

Same plants, four ZIP codes, four different calendars.

Every care window is set from your area’s median last spring frost and first fall frost. Pick a city to watch the year shift.

Dates are the windows ThymeIt schedules for each city’s ZIP code. Striped windows are estimates: their sources time them by when a plant finishes blooming or when the ground freezes, which we estimate from your frost dates. Wherever you live, the app works everything out from your own ZIP.

What you get

A calendar that knows your yard.

Pruning, not just planting

When to prune 45 trees, shrubs and perennials: dormant pruning for fruit trees, right after bloom for lilacs, never April to July for oaks. In cold zones, fall care for roses and evergreens too.

A reminder the morning it’s due

Each task gets its own reminder, scheduled on your phone. No server, no inbox, nothing to check.

Every year, on its own

Mark a job done and next season’s is already scheduled. Skip one and it comes back next year.

Starts with a ZIP code

Your hardiness zone and frost dates come from your ZIP, worked out on your phone. Setup takes a couple of minutes, with no account.

Privacy

Your garden stays on your phone.

ThymeIt has no server to send your data to. We built it that way on purpose, so there’s nothing to sign up for and nothing to leak.

Read the privacy policy
  • No account No sign-up, email address or password.
  • Your exact location is never stored If you share your location, it’s used once to look up your zone, then only your ZIP code is kept.
  • Backup goes to your own account Turn on automatic backup and your garden is saved to a private, app-only folder in your iCloud or Google Drive. We never see it.
  • No ads, no tracking Nothing about how you use the app is sent off your phone.

Where the timings come from

Timings you can check.

Every care task in ThymeIt is tied to guidance published by university extension services and botanic gardens, and your frost dates come from US government climate data. They’re general guidance for your area, not a guarantee for every season.
